Sentinel programme
Delta Sentinel's Sentinel programme rewards signed-in reporters with points and levels for submitting and extending public-space reports: you can track your report's status, get a reply, form a group, and earn points — while anonymous reporting stays fully available and is never required.
What do you gain by reporting while signed in?
If you submit (or extend) a report while signed in with your email address, you get:
- the ability to track your report's status (received → in progress → resolved);
- a reply from the organization handling the case;
- the ability to add a photo or extra information later, on the portal;
- the ability to form a group with other Sentinels and share your report with them;
- the ability to rate other approved reports with a star rating and a written opinion;
- points, and level-ups, in the Sentinel programme.
How exactly does the point system work?
The point values below come straight from the real constants in the Delta Sentinel backend code — they are not rounded or illustrative figures:
A rating's star count is between 1 and 5, and updating a rating only re-counts the change (delta) — so if a rater raises their opinion from 3 to 5 stars, only the difference (2 stars' worth of points) is credited.

What points do NOT mean
- Points are not money, and cannot be exchanged for any monetary benefit.
- Points give no priority in any official or utility-company proceeding — every report is handled on its own merits.
- The goal is report quality, not quantity — the point count is not an end in itself, only recognition of useful participation.
- In cases of abuse (e.g. a false report or a manipulated rating), the operator may revoke points, in part or in full.
Do I have to register to report something?
No. Anonymous reporting is fully functional today, and will remain so — signing in or registering will never be required. In line with GDPR, Delta Sentinel never makes consenting to data processing (signing in) a condition for using the service — the Sentinel programme is an optional extra for those who want to track their report and take part in community feedback.
Frequently asked questions about the Sentinel programme
Do I have to sign in to submit a report?
No. A report can be submitted without signing in, including fully anonymously, and this will always remain true — Delta Sentinel never makes signing in a condition for reporting.
How do I earn points in the Sentinel programme?
A submitted report is worth 10 points, and a message or extension (e.g. a comment added to an existing report) is worth 5 points. If someone rates your report, the stars you receive also earn points: 1 point per star from a fellow reporter, 2 points per star from staff.
Do I earn points for rating my own report?
No. Rating your own report never earns points — the point system rewards feedback from others and community participation, not self-rating.
What levels exist, and how do I level up?
There are five fixed levels (New, Bronze, Silver, Gold, and Elite Sentinel), computed from your accumulated points — the more useful reports and extensions you submit, and the better ratings you receive, the higher your level.
Do points have monetary value, or do they give priority in official proceedings?
No. Points are purely in-platform recognition — they cannot be exchanged for money or any other monetary benefit, and they do not affect the priority or outcome of any official or utility-company proceeding. The goal is report quality, not accumulating points for their own sake.
Can I lose points I've already earned?
Yes. If we detect abuse (e.g. a false report or a manipulated rating), the operator may revoke previously credited points, in part or in full.
How do I sign in if I reported something anonymously before?
If you provided an email address with your report, you can request a passwordless sign-in link to that same address on the portal — clicking it signs your browser in, and your earlier report is then linked to your account.
Can others see my points or account details?
Your points and level are shown only on your own profile and on the leaderboard of any group you've joined (there too under a masked or self-chosen name) — no one's email address or point total is ever visible in the public nearby-reports view.
